Once
upon a time, Cat and Rat were friends. They both lived in the
palace of a wealthy King, called Obong. Obong loved cat more
because he was much fun to be with than the rat. Therefore, the
King appointed cat a storekeeper, while rat was made an errand
boy. Rat was not happy and planned to cause disaffection between
the King and Cat.........(Scroll

Rat bore a tiny hole from the food store Cat watched over to
a nearby river. Each day Cat would ask Rat to come and play,
but Rat would give excuse that he was too busy running
errands for the King that he couldn’t afford to play. “You
know I am only an errand boy in this palace, and you are a
storekeeper. I have errands to run” He always told Cat. Cat
was not happy that Rat could not play with him any longer.
Each night, as Cat retired to bed, Rat would cut open a big
bag of corn and stole corns. He moved the grains through the
hole he bore to the river-side. He made several trips before
dawn and in the course of time moved several bags of corn to
the river side.
One day he ran into a fisherman who asked him what he was
doing with all that corn. Rat said “I’ve come to wash them
for the king, my lord.” But the fisherman was suspicious of
Rat’s activities in the night.
At the end of the year, when the Cat had to render his
account to the King, it was found that the store was missing
twenty bags of corn. King Obong was furious. He had Cat tied
to a tree, and ordered his bodyguards to flog him until he
confessed. But then the fisherman came out and narrated how
he had been seeing Rat with several corns at the river-side
each night. Guards were sent to get Rat, but he was nowhere
to be seen; they only saw a hole he bore at the store. They
fed smoke into the hole; the smoke appeared at the
river-side. They went there and saw Rat sitting on a huge
pile of corn. They brought him before the king. The King
ordered his bodyguards to tie his hands and flog him.
The king apologized to Cat but sent two of them out of the
palace. Cat was so angry and vowed to kill Rat anywhere he
finds him. Ever since that time the friendship between them
became a ‘cat and mouse’ relationship. Whenever a cat sees a
rat he will try to kill and eat it.
Morals:
Always be a good friend. Do not be jealous of your friend’s
success. God will eventually grant you success if you work
hard enough.

Ijele, The King
Masquerade
Masquerades
in most African traditions
originated as local law enforcement
agents. They protected traditions and shrines. Membership was shrouded
in secrecy through initiations to protect the identity of the members
who often were used to confront strong men who broke laws. In modern
times masquerades are used mostly for entertainments.

Parable of The Torchlight - Friends Indeed!!
In the midst of a very thick darkness that beclouded hopes and
instilled fear, a figure stood at a distance in a white robe
holding a faint torch-light to help guide the paths of a
trembled fellow. That figure was neither God, ghost nor an
apparition. It's a living being who knew a torch-light will be
needed at such a dark moment, brought it out, switched it on to
show light that helped save a life. That's what friends are for.
Where was your torch-light, when your friend lost his/her
way?......Read

The Misused Your Love, Abused Your Kindness, and Attacked Your
Character
"....They
misused your love, abused your kindness, manipulated you, tossed
you around, told lies behind you to knock you down, conspired to
make you look like a fool before the world, attacked your
character and integrity to tarnish your image; but you cannot
help but give glory to God because you came out on the other
side triumphant and left them forever wondering what happened to
their targeted arrows fired from their well-oiled gossip machine
and arsenals. Yeah, it all fell on the shield, the stone you are
under. ........Now you sing and dance the victory song while
they are doomed forever.
.They have
incurred the wrath of a mighty man of war, and He is charging at
them with a fiery rage. They are scattered in confusion, fleeing
in various directions. A trail of victory, victory, victory,
victory, victory, victory and power follows your path all the
way. I don't care what you are going through, until God says
it's over..it ain't over!!!

"..You can play gospel music
all day and post scriptures on your doors. However, if you don't
talk to your neighbors, don't move along with co-workers, always
looking forward to hearing bad news about your perceived enemies
rather than being happy with yourself, God needs no witnesses to
sentence you..." -

"A big hindrance to
personal progress is prejudice. It's amazing what we have in common and
how fast we connect with people when we sit around the same table to
share food & drink, irrespective of our race, color, background, gender,
and beliefs. The worst people on Earth are bigots who believe they are
holier and better than others but contribute nothing except hatred.
Never waste your time listening to such people."
